Hello everyone. Thank you for all your messages, it's always very nice to hear from you.

The special friend I was going to introduce to you is Han Hui. She won the BBConline Competition
2007 and her prize was an all-expenses-paid study trip to London for two weeks. Hui is now in London, she has written about her first week here. Here it is:

Ten hours journey on the plane, then I landed in Heathrow safe and sound at last. I really couldn’t believe I am in London but the British style of houses organised in rows beside the roads and the red double-decker buses reminded me, yes I’m in London now.

My hosts greeted me warmly and we got on very well with each other. Living in a local family isone of the most exciting parts of my trip to experience real British culture. They are so helpful with my sightseeing plans and I feel at home with them. They said if I need anything, they are there to help.

During the days since I arrived, I have been to a lot of places. Buckingham palace, Trafalgar Square, St.James Park, Greenwich, London Eye and the British Museum, wow!

London is full of tourist attractions which you’ll never get bored with. ‘if you’re bored of London, you’re bored of life’. Buckingham Palace made me excited with horse guards in front but I enjoyed St. James’ Park and Greenwich more.

Your eyes will be full of large areas of trees and grassy parks. People spend their leisure time relaxing with their families and friends. I’m impressed with it because you can see a beautiful picture from any angle. I can’t believe it is real life or just a picture!

Talking about school, I feel very happy studying here with teachers and students who are nice. It is an international atmosphere with the internet in a café environment. The activities organised by the school make you move on right away. School is never stressful here.

If you want to go out, transportation is convenient especially the tube. I worried a lot at the beginning about getting lost, but you won’t in the tube because clear signs are everywhere to tell you the direction. I bet even if you don’t know English, you’ll be ok in the tube. If you do need help from people nice locals will tell you where to go and wish you good luck or have a nice day. How nice is that!

I am sure I will enjoy the rest of the time in London and wish myself good luck!

Han Hui

Hope you all have a very nice weekend and I will see you next week.

Feifei
