Fairtrade is a way of buying and selling products that makes sure that the original producer receives a fair prices. Free-range as you can probably tell, means animals that are allowed to roam freely instead of being kept inside.

Fairtrade is to make sure farmers and workers from developing countries 发展中国家 work under good conditions(工作)条件 and in a good environment(工作)环境; it is to make sure that companies pay sustainable 可以承受的 prices, prices that can never fall below the market price 市场价格.

Fairtrade prevents injustices 不公平 in trade, it enables poor and weak farmers and producers to sell what they have produced at a decent 好的 price.

According to the Fairtrade Foundation, there are over 3,000 Fairtrade certified 被认证的products for sale through retail 零售 and catering 食品 outlets 经销商 in the UK.

These Fairtrade products include bananas, cocoa 可可粉, coffee, cotton 棉花, dried fruit 干果, fresh fruit & vegetables, honey 蜂蜜, juices 果汁, nuts/oil seeds 含油种子,rice, spices 调料,sugar, wine and many other non-food products.

UK isone of the world’s leading Fairtrade markets; it has more products and more awareness of Fairtrade than anywhere else, according to the Fairtrade Foundation. Around 20% of roast and ground coffee, and 20% of bananas sold here are now Fairtrade.
